Front view of the receiver. Is made with
a classic components layout as many receivers of the 50'. On
the left the autotransformer, behind the tubes and the middle
frequencies and on the right the tuning assembly .

This Telefunken Mignonnette is one of
the first portable radio, even always a 200V needed. The
tuning group is a variable impedace type. In this case
during the turn of the tuning knob the impedance of the antenna
resonant filter changing, in order to tuning the stations. The
big variable double capacitor in not required. This receiver works
only in medium waves, as many cheap receivers of this years.

Bottom view of the receiver, you can see
the yellow paper capacitors, the resistances assembly (the grey
blocks) and the tuning scale lamp. In this receivers there aren't
many components, due to an easy circuit configuration.

Detailed view of the damaged ballas resistors..
In this type of receivers with a little cabinet dimension
the heating of the power supply section was very difficult. This
often produced an overheating of some components. |

The first AF tube in this receiver was shielded
very well, because with the AF and MF tubes so close some noise
can be created. |
